What You’ll Be Doing:
Evolent Health is looking for a Managing Director, Medicaid Planning to be a key member of the Medicaid Center of Excellence. Evolent Health is the market-leader in providing turnkey capabilities for Medicaid risk-bearing entities while focusing on growing our national footprint in this critical segment. Our partnerships take various forms, but the common thread is a commitment to financial alignment, whereby we stand behind our operational performance through upfront capital investment and/or risk mitigation.
This is an opportunity to join a growing, fast-paced team and play an integral role in the identification and cultivation of multi-year opportunities in high-priority markets. This role will be responsible for working with the Medicaid Center of Excellence to support the execution of its market strategy and achieve Evolent’s growth targets for this exciting segment of our business. This role will require flexibility, creativity, and problem solving to meet the diverse needs of the stakeholders in various markets nationally. Development of RFP opportunities, the writing, refinement and drive, is key to this position. Thinking quickly on your feet is highly valued, as well as the ability to be collaborative and team-oriented. Given the importance of Medicaid to our company’s ambitious mission and growth targets, the role is expected to have significant visibility and engagement from Executive Leadership.
Role responsibilities include:
Lead and drive the writing and refinement of Medicaid RFP response opportunities.
Will support implementation efforts and be responsible for a successful transition to market leadership.
Focus on implementation and/or pre implementation handoffs to market leaders.
Participate actively in translating market intelligence into RFP response strategy.
Develop local market expertise and serve as the go-to internal leader responsible for all local market activity to advance our Medicaid strategy.
Build awareness and advance the MCOE value proposition in high-priority markets nationally
Develop presentation strategy, narratives, and content in advance of external meetings with senior stakeholders
Identify and conduct high-value relationship building with market-based stakeholders consistent with Evolent’s Medicaid strategy
Manage Medicaid RFP pipeline reporting and progress, and report appropriately to internal executive stakeholders
Assist with the writing and refinement of client-ready proposals at various points in the business development process
Participate actively in translating market intelligence into marketing and product strategy
Partner collaboratively with cross-departmental teams in a highly matrixed environment
Represent Evolent at the highest standard by espousing and demonstrating our core values as a company
The Experience You Need (Required):
Minimum 10 -12 years working experience in healthcare business development, Medicaid health plan and/or provider sales experience preferred
Experience with consultative sales process for complex, multi-year deals
RFP response experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success working across multi-disciplinary teams, internally and externally
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong meeting management skills
Finishing Touches (Preferred):
Strong ability to navigate matrixed team environments to achieve buy in from all parties and own results
Ability to think on your feet, be self-sufficient, and welcome a challenge
