This position physically reports to Camp Carroll, near Daegu, South Korea.

Inputs hazardous waste identification numbers in tracking system and completes appropriate documentation for turn-in and disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and other applicable regulations. Completes accurate waste characterization and associated waste profiles when required. Responsible for maintaining environmental compliance and promoting the Pollution Prevention program. Must be able to safely move and load extremely heavy drums and containers, in excess of 400 pounds, with provided material handling equipment. Appropriately advices supervisor and higher grade operating officials when directed in matters concerning environmental compliance involving the Pollution Prevention program. Operates and maintains industrial recycling equipment in support of pollution prevention initiatives. Maintains regulatory compliance in the Hazardous Waste Storage areas at all times. Properly characterize waste streams. Generate accurate hazardous waste profiles when required. Insure proper waste tracking and shipment within prescribed timeframes. Accurately interpret environmental rules, regulations, and policies. Provide hazardous waste guidance to shop personnel. Safely move heavy drums and containers using proper material handling equipment. Keep checklists, regulations, and policy letters current. Maintain replacement hazardous waste containers. Process and store hazardous waste and any other duties as assigned by the Site Supervisor. Shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences.


Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma. Formal hazardous waste training and two years--- experience in Hazardous Materials/Waste operations. Must have a valid driver’s license. Have experience in EESOH-MIS or other Hazardous Waste tracking software. Must have or be able to meet all RCRA training requirements. Must have the ability to obtain a SOFA USFK 700-19.

Certifications Required: HAZWOPER, RCRA, DOT
