Leidos Software Test Lead in RESTON, Virginia


Leidos is looking for a Test Lead with software development and test experience on complex applications to join a software development team working in the Herndon, VA area. The team is responsible for development and O&M of several applications. This position requires a TS/SCI with Polygraph in order to be considered.

The Test Lead is responsible for coordinating manual and automated testing activities for new development and O&M software activities. This position involves: acting as a quality and test advocate, planning test activities, managing test resources, and resolving issues that impede test efforts. The Test Lead is also responsible for assessing the progress and effectiveness of the test effort, while managing the ongoing purpose and deliverables of the test effort. The Test Lead will work in a Scrum agile development environment, and will collaborate with program management, technical leads, and test teammates to determine the best technical solution with the lowest risk, and to ensure consistent adherence to team processes and procedures. The Test Lead will develop and adhere to project schedules and milestones, provide weekly status updates, and determine workload priority.


Mandatory Skills:

  • Typically requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 5+ years or prior relevant experience or Masters with 3+ years of prior relevant experience. Generally has 2+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.

  • At least 2 years of technical leadership experience.

  • General engineering experience, at least 3 of which must be specialized current programming experience and at least 2 of which must be specialized testing and evaluation experience. Specialized experience includes test and evaluation of business applications on complex systems for large-scale applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to formulate test plans, provide procedures for agency representatives and computer programmers to use in testing and evaluation of computer programs.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience using automated testing tools.

  • Experience gathering and documenting system requirements.

  • At least 6 months experience working on an agile software development project.
